dispatch lecture/off site lecture
Since fiscal 2012, we have been conducting the dispatch lecture/off site lecture program mainly for elementary schools in the city to learn about mobility management. Regarding the content, we make advance adjustments with school teachers and conduct classes from the viewpoints of "environment", "welfare", "career", etc.

Notice of recruitment of schools (recruitment deadline has been closed)
Motoichi staff goes to school and performs class to think about social problem from viewpoint of traffic, movement close to us.
Until now, it has been used in a wide range of classes, from elementary school upper grades to junior high school society and language, comprehensive study time and morals.
It also leads to thinking about the SDGs from the perspective of transportation and mobility that are close to us.

2 Welfare education | About 90-135 minutes | ・Non-step buses and UD (universal design) taxis travel to school and use both actual cars to simulate getting on and off wheelchairs, visually impaired people, and elderly people. ・In addition, you will learn the functions of the bus and learn how to get on and how to get on from the driver of the bus or taxi. |
3 Self-Development (Career) Education | About 45 minutes | ・It will be an opportunity to hear from workers in urban development and transportation, think about the significance of working for elementary school student, and learn how to live. |
Flow of Application
1 Please select the course you want from the "List of Courses" above.
2 Please fill out the “Application Form (Word: 24KB)” with required items and apply by e-mail (tb-chikikotsu@city.yokohama.jp) or fax (045-663-3415).
3. Upon receipt of the application form, the person in charge will contact you.
4 If it is possible, detailed adjustments such as schedule and class content will be made. If necessary, a preliminary meeting will be held one to two months before the class will be held.
• Advance preparation is required, so in principle, please apply at least three months before the desired date.
• Please note that when applying for welfare education, classes may not be possible due to the circumstances of related organizations such as buses and taxi operators.
• Please note that if you receive a large number of applications, we may consult with you about the implementation, even before the application deadline.

1 Environmental Education dispatch lecture/off site lecture
Since fiscal 2012, we have been conducting dispatch lecture/off site lecture since fiscal 2012 to learn about the relationship between transportation such as trains, buses, cars and bicycles and global warming.
"Tracks, buses, cars…Which one is eco-friendly? Under the title of "Let's think about how to choose a smart vehicle that is friendly to the earth and convenient for people-", for the upper grades of elementary school students, as part of "Comprehensive Learning Time" and social studies classes I go to school and conduct classes.
In order to encourage a shift from living excessively relying on private cars to living using public transportation, etc., the aim is to have them learn the viewpoint of using various means of transportation smartly according to their purpose and situation.
Contents of class (example)
[1st hour: Classroom] Learn the relationship between vehicles and global warming
- Learn the mechanism of global warming and the relationship between vehicles and global warming in a quiz format.
- Learn the advantages and disadvantages of various vehicles, traffic rules, and how to use them.
- The teaching materials are booklets and slides (Power Points).

[2nd hour: Group work] Think about how to choose a smart vehicle
- Set a destination that elementary school student can easily imagine in advance.
- Assuming going out from school to destination, consider how to move (vehicles) for each group.
- Check the travel time, cost, and carbon dioxide emissions in a quick reference table.
- Presentation of how to move in each group.
- Rather than giving superiority, it is evaluated that vehicles that match the purpose and situation are selected.
- The teaching materials use booklets and maps for presentation.
(Note) The teaching materials for group work will be recreated according to the school. The following teaching materials are examples of Moegino Elementary School.

Recruitment of class schools
As part of the environmental education dispatch lecture/off site lecture program of the Environmental Activities Division of the Yokohama Green Environment Bureau, we are recruiting schools for all Municipal Elementary Schools schools.
2 Welfare education (barrier-free traffic) dispatch lecture/off site lecture
Since fiscal 2014, we have been conducting dispatch lecture/off site lecture to learn about the current situation surrounding public transportation such as buses and taxis in Yokohama, barrier-free systems, and the importance of mobility management.
It is mainly intended for upper grades of elementary school students, and is implemented in cooperation with bus operators and taxi operators.
In some elementary schools, the program was implemented in cooperation with a traffic barrier-free classroom (outside site) hosted by the Kanto Transport Bureau of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, Kanagawa Transport Bureau.
Contents of class (example)
- Know the role of buses, the use of buses in Yokohama city, and the barrier-free structure of buses.
- Using manga leaflets, learn that if the number of bus users decreases, there is a possibility that buses will disappear in the near future.
- The teaching materials use slides (Power Points) and manga leaflets.

3 Self-building (career) education dispatch lecture/off site lecture
Since fiscal 2014, dispatch lecture/off site lecture has been offering vocational lectures for junior high school students (classes in which people in various occupations talk about their own work).
By listening to the stories of people working in the transportation field, the aim is to get interested in familiar transportation and to promote the use of public transportation.
I hope that knowing the importance and rewarding of work will be a hint to think about your own way of life from there.
Contents of class (example)
- Know the content and importance of mobility management.
- Students will learn how rewarding their work as a Yokohama City Hall employee based on actual experience.

4 After-school elementary school student Development Project dispatch lecture/off site lecture
In fiscal 2016, the “After School Kids Club” and the “Hamako Fureai School” in the after-school elementary school student development project in Motoichi, the dispatch lecture/off site lecture was held in fiscal 2016 for a wide range of people, from the lower grades of elementary school to the upper grades, entitled “Buss that Everyone Wants to Know More”.
Contents of class (example)
- Using quizzes and bus page park rafts, etc., raise interest in buses while having fun and learn about the contents and importance of mobility management.
- The teaching materials use slides (Power Points).
