1 What is the Waterside Protection Association?

There are many rivers flowing in the city, and there are many familiar waterfronts such as Ogawa Amenity and Seseragi Green Road.
The Waterfront Protection Association is an organization composed of local residents or volunteers who belong to Neighborhood Association Neighborhood Associations, shops, schools, companies, NPOs, etc., so that they can comfortably interact with the waterside by preserving the environment of rivers and waterside facilities.

2 Number and list of waterside protection associations

Currently, 99 organizations (as of September 2024) are active.

3 To create a waterside protection society

We will form a group of five or more people who belong to Neighborhood Association, Neighborhood Associations, shops, schools, companies, NPOs, etc., and submit a notification of the formation of a waterside protection association to the River Planning Division. First, please consult with the Yokohama City Hall River Planning Division (045-671-4215).

Place of activity

We will work on rivers managed by Yokohama City, rivers under maintenance by Yokohama City, and waterside facilities such as Ogawa Amenity and Seseragi Green Road.

Activities

We carry out cleaning and weeding activities of rivers and waterside facilities.
One of the activities is to carry out voluntary activities and events using waterside facilities.

4 Support from Yokohama City

(1) Depending on the scale and content of the activity, we will provide support such as granting subsidies. At the end of the activity, please submit a performance report etc.
(2) Waterside Protection Association News
  We issue "Waterside Protection Association Newsletter" to introduce activities of the Waterside Protection Association, share information with the Waterside Protection Association, and enhance activities.
