Waterside paradise school project

※What is the Waterside Raku School Project?
This is a project that the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism is making necessary maintenance to make waterside activities safe and fulfilling.
The purpose of the project is as follows.

・Create a regional cooperation system that supports children's play on the waterside
・Create a safe waterside full of natural environment
・Improve the waterside as a playground for children full of nature and a place to experience nature.
In Yokohama City, the Umeda River was registered as a “Waterside Raku School Project” in 1998, and the environment was improved along with river renovation work.

※In Yokohama City, 1.1 km from "Ipponbashi Medaka Hiroba" on the Umeda River to Nenju Bridge is being implemented as the "Umeda River Waterside Raku School Project".
Citizens and the government are working together to protect the rich natural environment of the basin, while utilizing the river as a place for children to experience the waterside, play and learn. .
This project consists of the "Umeda River Waterside Raku School Council" and the "Umeda River / River Creation Workshop".

The Umeda River Waterside Raku School Council is an organization in which citizens and the government work together to protect the rich natural environment of the Umeda River basin and consider its utilization.
We have been conducting events such as the publication of the basin map, the "Waterside Raku School Newspaper", and the "Umeda River Marukajiri" using the products of the basin. In recent years, the event "Kids River Day" is held around summer every year.

●Through activities related to waterside, we will expand the circle of people who will protect and nurture the Umeda River and its basin in the future.
