International Technical Exchange

Last Updated April 14, 2021

Overview

Yokohama City, in cooperation with overseas sewerage companies, the International Water Association (IWA), JICA and other organizations, conducts technical exchanges with engineers from various countries. In addition, we are engaged in information gathering, technology development, and human resource development to utilize the knowledge and technology of overseas organizations in the operation of sewerage business.
In addition, we concluded a memorandum of understanding with the city in August 2019 with the Paris Wide Area Sewerage Administrative Association (SIAAP), which has many common issues with the city regarding sewerage business operation. Through this exchange, we are conducting online workshops to spread knowledge on trends in initiatives such as responding to aging sewerage facilities, energy recovery, and introduction of green infrastructure, as well as the latest technologies, and utilize them in future sewerage business development.
