Reduce greenhouse gas emissions by about 8,200t-CO2 year! Hokubu Sludge Treatment Plant sludge treatment and effective utilization facility has been completed!

Business Overview

Yokohama City collects sludge generated during the process of treating sewage at two sludge recycling centers in the city. We have been working on the effective use of resources, such as by effectively utilizing biogas and sludge incineration ash generated during the treatment process.
In line with the renewal of the sludge incinerator and improved soil plant in Hokubu Sludge Treatment Plant, in order to promote global warming countermeasures and more effective use of resources. ※In addition to maintaining 1, we will maintain and operate, including the improved soil plant currently operated in the PFI business.
In implementing the project, we will implement a PFI project that can utilize the private technical capabilities and funds of the private sector.
*1 This facility uses sludge generated in the process of sewage treatment as a raw material to produce bio-derived fuels that can be used as an alternative to fossil fuels. By switching the system from incineration to fuel material production, it is expected that the greenhouse gas generated during the sludge incineration process will be significantly reduced.
