When installing oil traps at restaurants, etc., are there standards for the water quality (BOD, SS, etc.)?
Last Updated March 6, 2019
Oil traps intercepts animals and plants and oils contained in sewage from commercial kitchens by floating and separated using the difference in specific gravity with water. It is installed to prevent clogged.
Yokohama City considers oil traps to be part of the piping equipment, so there is no standard for drainage from it.
Regarding BOD, SS, animal and plant fats and fats, water quality standards are applied to business sites with a daily wastewater volume of 2,000 cubic meters or more, so most business establishments are not subject to water quality regulations.
