Overview
Kanazawa Wastewater Treatment Plant was constructed as part of a sewerage improvement plan based on the Yokohama International Port City Construction Plan, and commenced operation in October 1979 as the eighth water reclamation center in Yokohama.
In April 2009, the adjacent Nambu Sludge Treatment Plant was integrated to unify management, and from April 1, 2010, the organization was renamed Nambu Sewerage Center.
Kanazawa Ward and part of Isogo Ward and Konan Ward are treated as treatment zones.
Sewage flows directly or flows into the water reclamation center via the Kanazawa pumping station, is treated high-grade treatment by the standard activated sludge method, and (partially advanced treatment by the A2O method is performed in some series), sterilization from Tomioka River to Tokyo Bay. Will be released.
- Site area: 129,440㎡
- Planned processing area: 4,913㏊
- Processed population: 381,600 people
- Plan processing capacity: 221,900㎥
- Sludge treatment: Pumping to Nambu Sludge Treatment Plant
Characteristics

- There are facilities for reuse of treated water, which is used as cooling water for machines, rinsing water in the premises, and as a heat source for air conditioners in the main building. It also supplies water to neighboring Nambu Sludge Treatment Plant and Resources and Waste Recycling Bureau Kanazawa plants as miscellaneous water.
- The jurisdiction facilities include Kanazawa pumping station (sewage relay / rainwater drainage pumping station) and Rokuura pumping station (rainwater drainage pumping station). In each case, a distant monitoring and control device is used to operate and monitor from the water reclamation center to save labor.
- In the Torihama and Fukuura districts, there are the Torihama Daiichi Plant wastewater treatment plant and the Fukuura Factory wastewater treatment plant as pretreatment facilities for the purpose of pollution control in the city. Co-processing.
(The Torihama Daini Factory Wastewater Treatment Plant was abolished on March 31, 2013.)
