Hokubu No.1 Wastewater Treatment Plant is a combined sewage treatment facility that covers the northwestern part of Tsurumi Ward and part of Kohoku Ward. Sewage is cleaned by the activated sludge method and discharged into the Tsurumi River. In addition, along the Tsurumi River, a first-class river, three sewage relay and rainwater drainage pumping stations, five rainwater drainage pumping stations, and three underground pumping facilities are managed along the coast to drain rainwater quickly to the Tsurumi River. We are making efforts to prevent flooding in the town. In addition, a rainwater reservoir is operating as an initial pollution countermeasure during rainfall.
