What is the difference?

It is various noises generated in and around the house by daily life.
For living noise
- Noise from audio equipment such as televisions and musical instruments
- Noise from residential equipment and equipment such as air conditioners and washing machines
- Noise caused by other things such as footsteps and pet squeals

Types and Measures for Daily Noise
Be attentive to the sound of the house
Household noise generated from ordinary households is not subject to regulations such as laws.
For this reason, Yokohama City has established the “Guidelines to Consider Prevention of Living Noise (see below)”, and requests that you work to solve problems through making rules in the area and discussions between the parties concerned. Let's deepen our understanding with neighbors and have a compassionate relationship.

Solving problems related to living noise

It is important to talk with each other and ask for their understanding.
There are various sources of noise in daily life
In fiscal 2021, we received 195 consultations on noise from Atmosphere and Sound Environment Division.
About one-fourth of the sources, noise on the upper and lower floors of apartment in condominiums. Next was the sound of equipment such as air conditioner water heaters and water heaters, and voice of people.
