The Yokohama City Social Education Corner was established in 1982 as a place for citizens' lifelong learning activities, training activities for that purpose, volunteer activities, etc., and as a place for information provision and exchange related to lifelong learning.

Based on Article 19 of the Yokohama City Education & Culture Center Ordinance, the Yokohama City Social Education Corner Designated Manager Selection Evaluation Committee has been established to investigate and deliberate on the selection of candidates for designated managers and evaluations related to the management of corners by designated managers.
