Yokohama City Library Action Plan

At the end of the Yokohama City Library Action Plan (FY2010-FY2014) ending, we will formulate the Yokohama City Library Action Plan (Second Phase 2) in March 2015. In the second plan, based on changes in the social situation, it will be linked to the "Yokohama Citizens' Reading Activity Promotion Plan" and the "Second Yokohama City Educational Promotion Basic Plan" formulated in 2014, and the next five years By showing the efforts of the year, we aimed to realize the measures systematically.

Basic goal: "Local information base supporting citizens' reading activities"
In order to become a place suitable for the "local information base" that was the role of City Library in the "Yokohama Citizens' Reading Activity Promotion Plan," we will strengthen its functions as a library by providing information useful for solving citizens' issues and improving reference services. And cooperate with ward offices, schools, various local groups, etc., and promote reading activities throughout the region, so that more people can get acquainted with reading and enjoy reading. To that end, we will examine the management and operation method of the regional library so far, determine the policy of future operation, formulate a plan, and promote the environment improvement for service improvement.

• Improvement of convenience by enhancing familiar and convenient library services
• Effective and efficient management and operation based on regional characteristics
• Promotion of cooperation with other cities
