We started reading sessions in 2024. You can enjoy short stories with your ears.
Many people participated in the reading sessions held in May and June.
No prior application is required, so please join us in the future reading session.

Children's Favorite Picture Book Exhibition
Picture books were exhibited along with POPs created by picture book supporters working at the "Minami Ward Regional Child Care Support Center Haguhagu no Ki".
The introduction POP of picture books also included episodes during child care, and it was often seen that parents with children were picking it up. Also, during the period, about 450 picture books on display were borrowed.

Play park in the woods "Aim for Detective! Unleashing Forest Puzzles"
Challenge the Mission at Komyoji Park and Minami Library! Animals and plants collected at Komyoji Park were investigated using books from the South Library.
Based on the content of the survey, we deciphered the forest puzzle, and all participants were certified as detectives.

I tried to make a picture-story show while teaching tips on how to make it. Finally, everyone played a picture-story show.

Listening to the story about global warming, I thought about what we could do.

To celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Minami Library, we will exhibit some of the aerial and local photographs collected by Minami Library, focusing on photographs taken from the Showa era earlier than 30 years ago.

Exhibition location: stair landing in Minami Library, reading room on the second floor, etc.
On the day of the lecture, there were many people involved in reading activities, including not only parents and children, but also school librarians and those who volunteered for reading.
At the lecture, we heard an interesting story about the picture book production process that the instructor has worked on as an editor. Regarding the meaning of reading picture books, the story picture book fosters the "internal power of children who want to live" and science picture books foster "the ability for children to know the surrounding world positively". Many participants were eager to take notes.
"I felt again that the process of making picture books and the thoughts of the writers and editors who are making books. I had a very good time."
"I thought that the person who only knew and who made the story of what he knew most was, was wonderful, that was true. Also, I wanted to read the newspaper every corner and look for hints for picture books, and no matter how old I was, I wanted to keep my interest in the world around me."
"It's very clear that 'a lot of mystery' is being made. It was interesting to know the difficulties of the editor to realize the thoughts of the author and painters. I also work on raising children and work because I want to convey the pleasure of living. I feel that I had the courage in today's lecture."

On the day of the lecture, many people participated in the occasion of heavy rain due to Typhoon No. 14.
At the lecture, we were able to explain the history and episodes of the lecturer's past works, including slides and videos, and were able to hear stories about their thoughts on writing.
