Services for people with visual impairments
Face-to-face reading
We provide a service for transliterators to read books and magazines you want to read. There is a room dedicated to reading in the library.
Please make a reservation in advance for the date and time of your visit.
It may take some time to prepare the book or magazine you want, or to arrange materials for what you want to check. Please contact us at the time of booking.
Rental of recording materials and Braille materials
We will lend recording materials and Braille materials. We'll deliver it from Chuo-toshokan to your home.
Braille materials
Braille materials such as public information Yokohama are available on the second floor.
For use
•Prior registration is required for face-to-face reading and lending of recording and Braille materials. Registration is accepted at each library.
•Those who can register are those who live, attend school, or work in Yokohama City and have been issued a certificate of the physically disabled due to visual impairment.
•When registering, we will check your name, Address, etc., as well as the classification and grade of the certificate of the physically disabled.

Services for people with physical and mental disabilities
Delivery and lending of books and magazines
For those who have physical and mental disabilities and have difficulty visiting the library, we will lend books and magazines.
•You need to register in advance to use the delivery loan. It is accepted at each library.
•Those who can register are those who live, attend school, or work in Yokohama City and have received any of the certificate of the physically handicapped, the nursing notebook (love notebook), or the health and welfare notebook for the mentally handicapped.
•When registering, we will check your name, Address, etc., as well as the classification and grade of the Handbook for Persons with Disabilities.
•It cannot be used together with lending at each library window (even if you already have a library card, you will not be able to borrow books at the window).

A writing board is available at the counter. Please feel free to contact us.
Those who have difficulty reading characters
・On the second floor, there is a large print book and an enlarged reading device.
・There is a loupe and a reading tracker at the counter.
