About dunning letter

If the city tax is not paid even after the prescribed deadline, a "dunning letter" will be sent.
We ask that you pay the tax as soon as you receive the reminder letter.

If you continue to pay after sending the dunning letter, "delinquent disposal" will be executed.

It takes up to two weeks from paying the city tax at a financial institution or convenience store until the payment data arrives in Yokohama City.
If payment is made after the deadline, the payment data may not arrive in Yokohama City on the date of sending the dunning letter.
Therefore, please note that even if you have already paid, you may receive a reminder letter by mistake.

There are two types of dunning notices: one sent in a sealed letter and one sent by postcard, but the contents are the same.
In addition to the examples below, there are several forms sent in a sealed letter, and some payment slips are not enclosed.
The main items are as follows. (It corresponds to the number in the sample image.)

1. The taxpayer's name is Address. In the case of shared property tax, in principle, it is sent to the representative (the destination of the tax payment letter of advice).
2. Tax items, date, due date, and tax amount that have not been paid after the due date.
3. It is a number to identify the target tax item on the city tax database. Please let us know when you make inquiries by phone or other means.
4. A reminder letter is created on the date indicated individually. Even if payment has been made, a reminder letter may be sent incorrectly if the payment data has not arrived in Yokohama City by this day.
