Return of National Health Insurance benefits

If you lose your Yokohama National Health Insurance qualification due to reasons such as joining the employee health insurance workplace or moving out of the city, you will be required to return the medical expenses (70 to 80% of the total medical expenses, high medical costs, dietary allowances, etc.) paid to the medical institution by Yokohama City.
If you get a job or move out of the city, do not use it even if you have a Yokohama City National Health Insurance Card at hand.
What is the return of National Health Insurance medical treatment benefits?
If you go to a medical institution using the Yokohama National Health Insurance Card after you are no longer eligible for the Yokohama City National Health Insurance, medical expenses's share of Yokohama City (70 to 80% of the total medical expenses, high medical costs, hospital meals, etc.) will be returned to Yokohama City.

★ Day when National Health Insurance Card becomes unavailable
・If you have insurance at work ……Date of qualification for social insurance (employment date, dependent certification date, etc.)

・If you join the medical system for elder senior citizens ……Date of joining (75th birthday or date of being certified for disability)
Please note that this is not the day you completed the procedure to stop the Yokohama National Health Insurance or the day you received your new employee health insurance insurance card.
The refund of insurance benefits is to return the medical expenses paid by the National Health Insurance, which is different from insurance premiums. Premiums are calculated up to the previous month on the day when National Health Insurance is no longer eligible, and will be settled separately.
Even if you do not have a new health insurance card, you will no longer be eligible for Yokohama City National Health Insurance after you have acquired a new employee health insurance qualification.
Even if you have a National Health Insurance Card from Yokohama City (even if you have not applied for National Health Insurance at the destination municipal office), if you move out of the city, after the date of moving out of the city (if the transfer destination is overseas If you do, you will not be able to use the Yokohama National Health Insurance Card after the day after the transfer date).
Please tell us that you are in the process of switching employee health insurance at the medical institution. You may pay 100% on that day, and if you show your new insurance card at a later date, it may be settled. You can also charge your new employee health insurance if you fail to pay for it at the hospital.
The handling differs depending on the employee health insurance you have subscribed to, so please contact employee health insurance. It may not be returned due to reasons such as statute of limitations.
The refund of insurance benefits is not the co-payment (20 to 30%) but the portion borne by employee health insurance (70 to 80%, high medical costs, dietary allowances at the time of hospitalization, etc.).
