Yokohama City has established a system to encourage children to enter compulsory education schools.
●Those who have difficulty in getting their children to school for financial reasons
- Go to Yokohama City Elementary and Junior High School → To Subsidies for School Expenses System
- Live in the city and go to national and prefectural elementary, junior high and secondary schools (first half) → Go to "About Private School Enrollment Incentive System"
- Live in the city and go to private elementary, junior high and secondary schools (first half) in the city → Go to "About Private School Enrollment Incentive System"
- Foreign children who live in the city and go to a foreign school in the city (beginner / intermediate) → Go to "About Private School Enrollment Incentive System"

About the Subsidies for School Expenses System
We provide school supplies, school trips, school lunches, etc. for those who have financial difficulties in sending their children to Yokohama City Elementary and Junior High School for financial reasons.
<People who can receive assistance>
Families who have difficulty in enrolling their children for financial reasons, such as those receiving Child Raising Allowance or those who have financial difficulties and whose overall household income is below the limit.
<Content of assistance>
School supplies, school supplies, extracurricular activities such as excursions, school trip expenses, school lunch expenses, etc.
<Application method>
Please read the “Notice of Subsidies for School Expenses System” distributed at the school where your child is attending school, fill out the “Subsidies for School Expenses Application Form” attached to the notice with required items, attach a certificate, etc., and apply to the school where your child goes to school.
In addition, in certification, we have established a system to deduct a certain amount from income, so even if it exceeds the limit, it may be certified.
The amount in the table of gross income, etc. under the certification criteria described in the “Notice of the Subsidies for School Expenses System” is only a guide. If you are a family with difficulties in living, please apply first.

About private school enrollment incentive system
Those who live in the city and whose children go to private elementary schools, junior high schools, and secondary schools (first half of the course) in the national, prefectural or city, or whose children are foreign nationals and foreign schools in the city (beginner)・ We will provide school supplies, school trips, school lunches, etc. for those who go to junior high schools and who are in trouble for financial reasons.

Families who have difficulty in enrolling their children for financial reasons, such as those receiving Child Raising Allowance or those who have financial difficulties and whose overall household income is below the limit.
