Information on the out-of-school enrollment system

In Yokohama City, the school area is determined by the registered Address area, and in principle, children living in the same school area must go to the same school. It becomes.
However, if your child has individual circumstances, there is a system called "out-of-designated area study" that allows you to go to a school other than the designated school, and this system applies when the following reasons apply. You.
Please note that it may be rejected if the principal determines that there is a problem with commuting, etc., or depending on the facility status of the school.

If you wish to go to a school closer than designated school because the designated school is at a distance (the distance to designated school is at least 2 km one way for elementary school students and at least 3 km one way for junior high school students) at the time of enrollment or transfer.
(Please contact us if school hours, school route, etc. are overburdened.)
After obtaining the consent of the principal of the school you wish to go to school, you will need to apply for permission at the ward office that has registered as a resident.
If you wish to go to a nearby school instead of the school designated due to illness, etc.
(attached documents requires a doctor's medical certificate, etc.)
If you have moved out of the school area of the school you have attended, but there is no obstacle to commuting, so you wish to continue to go to the previous school.
If you wish to go to a school in the area where you live after leaving school, such as After-School Care Program Clubs (excluding after-school kids clubs), self-employed stores, because there is no custody after returning home due to the work of parents, etc.
If your brothers and sisters are already attending a school other than the designated school with the permission of Director General and wish to go to the same school as your siblings.
If you plan to move in the middle of the school year and do not interfere with commuting, so you wish to go to a school in the area you are moving to in advance.

Permission procedures are required at the ward office that has registered as a resident.
(For attached documents, a building sales contract (copy) or lease agreement (copy) is required.)

If you temporarily move out of the school area of the school you are attending due to new construction or renovation of your home, but there is no obstacle to commuting, so you wish to continue to go to the previous school.

①The designated schools do not have club activities for cultural and sports activities that have been undertaken.
②At the time of entering junior high school, he was engaged in the same cultural and sports activities as the desired club activities as a club activity at the previous school for more than one year at elementary school, and at the time of transfer, he was engaged in the same cultural and sports activities as the desired club activities.
If you meet both of the above 12 and wish to go to the nearest junior high school from your home among the nearby junior high schools where the club activities are located, assuming that you will be enrolled in the desired club activities.
Please note that club activities may be closed until enrollment or during enrollment due to school circumstances.
※The above elementary school includes the first half of the compulsory education school and the second half of the compulsory education school.

After obtaining the consent of both the designated school and the principals of the school you wish to attend, you will need to apply for permission at the ward office that has registered as a resident.
If you are a new student, attached documents will need a Certificate of Activities (Excel: 15KB). Have your club prove your activities and have confirmation from the principal of the elementary school you are enrolled in.

If you wish to go to a school other than the designated school, and the principals of both the designated school and the school you wish to attend should be considered educationally in accordance with the specific circumstances of the elementary school student student.
