We called for "the road is friendly," and we named it.
There are nine nicknamed roads in Konan Ward, which have been nicknamed the Kamakura Highway.

Kamakura Highway | From 3-chome, Yoshino-cho, Minami-ku, Katsura-cho, Sakae-ku (6,000 meters) | It is the main local road leading from Yokohama to Kamakura and is the central road of Konan Ward. This road is one of the roads that were passed by samurai from various countries during the "Iza Kamakura" when the Kamakura Shogunate was opened, and is now one of the major highways in the city. . Sakuramichi | From Konan Chuo-dori to Konan 6-chome (1,200 meters) | This road was originally an approach to the Hino Park Cemetery, and in 1933 a local youth group planted cherry blossom saplings on both sides of the road. Every spring, about 200 cherry blossoms bloom vividly and dust, and there is also the "Sakura Festival", which is held grandly locally, making it a major cherry blossom spot in the ward. (1977) |
Okita Road | Hino (700 meters) | Okita Road is a name given from the old character (bruise) name of the land, "Okita", and has been popular with local people since ancient times. Now that the name of the land has moved from character to the street address, the number of people who know the origin of this road name may gradually decrease. (1977) |
Shimizuzaka | From Sasashita, Mori 5-chome, Isogo-ku (250 meters) | It was completed in 1931 by people wishing for regional development to create a road that connects the New Yokosuka Kaido Highway in Isogo Ward and theIsogo Ward Forest. There is a theory that the name Shimizuzaka is said to be that Shimizu came out during construction and that Shimizu was flowing out of a nearby pond to the road, but now it is paved and cars pass frequently.
