On Saturday afternoon, September 3, 2022, when the rain forecast was cloudy and the heat disappeared, a special lecture titled "Architect Kengo Kuma talks about Okurayama" was held in Kohoku public hall. This lecture was an introduction to Josei-in (Okurayama) and was originally scheduled for February 27, 2022, but was postponed due to priority measures such as prevention of spread.

Mr. Kengo Kuma Profile
Mr. Kengo Kuma
Born in 1954. Established Kengo Kuma Architectural and Urban Design Office in 1990. After serving as a professor at Keio University and a professor at the University of Tokyo, he is currently a special professor and emeritus professor at the University of Tokyo. Projects are underway in more than 30 countries. We propose architecture that opens up new relationships between nature, technology and human beings. Major books include "Dots / Lines / Masks" (Iwanami Shoten), "Hito no Sumi" (Shincho Shinsho), "Losing Architecture" (Iwanami Shoten), "Natural Architecture", "Small Architecture" (Iwanami Shinsho), many others.
Speaker Profile
Seiji Hirai Born in Okayama Prefecture, President of Okura Institute of Psychiatry and Culture.
He studied Japanese history and joined the Okura Institute of Psychiatry in 1987 as a part-time researcher. It is entrusted with the collection of materials at the research institute. Learn the history of the founders, research institutes, and Kohoku Ward. One of the founding members of the Kohoku Library Friendship Association, Okurayama Park Protection Association, and Tsurumi River Boat Project, working on a wide range of local activities.
Takahiko Iida Born and raised in Okurayama. He still lives.
One grade higher than Mr. Kuma. Councilor of the Okura Institute of Psychiatry. He also serves as chairman of the Yokohama City Fire Fighting Association and chairman of the Kanagawa Fire Fighting Association.
Junichi Urushihara Born and raised in Nagaokurayama, Kohoku-ku, Yokohama.
After graduating from university, he joined the Yokohama City Hall Urban Planning Bureau as an architect. He also experienced the development of facilities for the 2002 FIFA World Cup at Yokohama International Stadium (Nissan Stadium). In April this year, he became Minatokita Director General, Yokohama.
