Food Specialist Monitoring Team
Located within the Food Sanitation Division of the Yokohama City Public Health Center, from a professional and scientific perspective, we provide monitoring and guidance for large mass retailers such as imported food dealers and department stores and large-scale food manufacturing facilities in the city, inspection of food, emergency response to large-scale food poisoning incidents and serious violations, preliminary investigations, collection of food hygiene information, and provision of information to the Health and Welfare Center.
Central Wholesale Market Food Sanitation Laboratory
There is a central wholesale market in the city that handles fresh fish and fruits and vegetables. In the market, a wide variety of foods are distributed in large quantities, and we have set up a food hygiene laboratory to ensure the safety of these foods.
The Food Sanitation Laboratory conducts inspections of fresh fish and vegetables and processed foods distributed in the market, bacteria, additives, pesticide residues, etc., to eliminate violations and defective foods, and to monitor and guide facilities in the market. I am.
Meat Sanitation Laboratory
In Yokohama, there is a meat market, which is a distribution base for meat. We have set up a meat hygiene laboratory in the market to ensure meat safety.
At the Meat Sanitation Laboratory, cows and pigs are inspected at a time, and guidance is given to discard unsuitable parts for food, and to keep facilities in the market sanitary.
BSE inspections, which began nationwide in 2001, are conducted by the Meat Safety Inspection.
