About designated waste

The Radioactive Material Pollution Control Special Measures Law stipulates that waste with a radioactive concentration of radioactive cesium exceeding 8,000 becquerels per kilogram can be applied to the government, and the designated waste is handled by the government. It is supposed to be.
In March 2013, the City submitted a designated application for waste stored by Public Works Office and sludge from municipal school rainwater facilities to the Ministry of the Environment, and submitted an application for designated waste to the Ministry of the Environment on September 27, 2013. All submitted applications were designated on December 26, 2013.

(3)Storage method
In the future, designated waste will be disposed of at the responsibility of the government, but until specific disposal methods and locations are determined, appropriate storage will be continued based on consultations with the Ministry of the Environment's “Designated Waste Guidelines” and the Ministry of the Environment.
