Suicide Countermeasures

The number of suicides in Japan increased by more than 8,000 at a time in 1998 to over 30,000, and has been at a high level since then. In October 2006, the "Suicide Countermeasures Basic Law" was enacted to prevent suicide by comprehensively promoting suicide countermeasures throughout the country, and to enhance support for relatives of suicides. Was. In addition, based on this law, in June 2007, the "Suicide Comprehensive Countermeasures Charter" was formulated as a guideline for suicide countermeasures to be promoted by the government, and was reviewed in August 2012. . In Yokohama City, the Suicide Countermeasures Liaison Conference in the Yokohama City Hall has been set up since September 2007 to promote suicide countermeasures through close cooperation and cooperation within the agency pertaining to suicide countermeasures.
The general rules state that one of the immediate priority measures to prevent suicide is to clarify the actual situation of suicide. Yokohama City Inst. of Health wants to actively provide the current situation of suicide obtained by analyzing demographics to the liaison conference and to provide it to citizens via the WEB page.
The actual situation of suicide in Yokohama City (from 2007)
