In order to support the lives of low-income households that are largely affected by soaring prices of electricity, gas, food, etc., only the resident tax per capita rate will be paid to taxable households (100,000 yen per household) and child addition (child 1 50,000 yen per person).

Only per capita rate of residence tax benefits to taxable households

Amount paid

100,000 yen per household (payment is only once, no duplicate receipt from other local governments is allowed)

Households eligible for payment

The following two conditions must be met.

  • There must be resident registration in Yokohama City as of December 1, 2023
  • All households must be "taxpayers only on the per capita rate" or "taxpayers and tax-exempt persons only on the per capita rate" of the residence tax in 2023

(Caution) Even if the above conditions are met, households consisting only of dependent relatives who are subject to residence tax (eg, students who live away from their parents, families living away from those who are living alone) are not eligible for payment. The term "dependency" here refers to tax deduction for dependents. In addition, even if you are not dependent on the taxpayer, if you are a full-time blue tax return business, you will be treated as a dependent of the tax taxpayer. If the situation is different from resident certificate due to circumstances such as divorce talks, please contact us individually.

Payment method and payment timing

As a general rule, payment will be made by bank transfer to an account of a financial institution.

Households eligible for payment

Households with children under the age of 18 (after birth on April 2, 2005) among households eligible for benefits to taxable households (100,000 yen) only.
(Caution) Exceptions are children born on or after the base date (December 1, 2023) are eligible.

[About households eligible for payment]
Households receiving welfare as of December 1, 2023 will be eligible for payment if they have not received the emergency support benefit payment (30,000 yen) for 2023. (The Emergency Support Benefit (70,000 yen) for FY2023 will not be paid.)
However, the following persons are not eligible for payment.

  • When there is a household who is subject to the 2023 residence tax that does not receive welfare
  • When all households are dependent on the 2023 residence tax taxable

[About social security's handling of income certification]
This benefit is not recognized as income. When you receive, please list in income report, and please submit to case worker in charge of each ward life support section.
(Caution) Please mark the presence in the “4 Other income” column of the income report and enter it in the “Temporary income” column at the bottom. The “Specific content” column may be abbreviation as “Price soaring benefits”.

Those who have been evacuated due to violence (DV) from spouses or relatives

Even if they are dependent on DV perpetrators (the resident certificate cannot be transferred), they are evacuating to Yokohama City as of December 1, 2023, and the households of the evacuees (and accompanying persons) will be subject to payment as an independent household.
Along with the application procedure, you can receive benefits by certifying that you are evacuating.

(Caution) Those who have been evacuated outside Yokohama cannot receive this benefit from Yokohama City. You may be able to receive benefits from the municipalities of the evacuation destination, so please contact the evacuation destination municipalities for details.

Refund of benefits

After receiving the benefits, if it is found that the household does not meet the payment requirements or that the household has already received this benefit from Yokohama City or other local governments, we will ask for a return of the benefit. .
In addition, malicious false applications may be charged with criminal liability.

Pay attention to special fraud and fraud of personal information

If you have any suspicious visits, calls, e-mail, or mail, please contact the nearest police department or Police Consultation Phone (# 9110).
Oh There is absolutely no request from Yokohama City to operate ATMs.
Oh Yokohama City will never ask for a transfer of fees for benefits.
