In the redevelopment project of Yokohama Culture Gymnasium, we concluded a PFI project agreement in December 2017 and opened the Yokohama Budokan (Sub Arena) in July 2020. (Scheduled to start operation in April 2024)

・A description of the name, etc. (reason, origin, etc.) can be made public.

・The name must not be the same as the company name, product name, profit-related name, or nearby facilities.

・We decide name plan based on opinion that we had from all of you and opinion from "Yokohama-shi sports promotion council" consisting of outside expert. (In some cases, it may not be a plan with a large number of votes in soliciting opinions.)
・The proposed name will be submitted to the 2nd City Counsil Regular Meeting in 2022 as a revised plan for the Yokohama City Sports Facilities Ordinance, and will be decided by resolution.

The two arenas will be constructed using the land of the former Yokohama Culture Gymnasium site and the adjacent Yokohama High School site. We aim to become the core of creating bustle in the area around Kannai Station by making it a new base for sports promotion in Yokohama and actively using various performances such as concerts.

Located on the site of the former Yokohama Culture Gymnasium, it has a total floor area of approximately 15,000 m2 and a three-story, fan-shaped (U-shaped) theater type arena that creates a sense of unity among the audience seats. It is a facility that can hold events such as professional sports and entertainment as well as competitions such as civic sports.
