History of Construction and Landfilling

Subsequently, the volume of raw wood imports at Yokohama Port gradually increased, peaking in the early 1940s, and boomed. However, due to a decrease in raw wood imports due to an increase in sawmill imports, almost disappeared in the late 1950s, ending its historical role as a storage yard for about half a century.

July, 1936 (Showa 11) | With the decision to hold the 12th Olympic Games (1940) in Tokyo, Shinyamashita will be planned as a yacht competition venue. (Current base of Honmoku Futo A jetty) |
1937 (Showa 12) | Construction started. After that, the construction was suspended due to the cancellation of the tournament, but the construction resumed with the help of the Japan Yacht Association and completed in 1941 (Showa 16). |
March, 1968 (Showa 43) | It will be completely abolished due to the construction of Honmoku Wharf. |
