Yokohama Arts and Culture Education Platform (Art and Cultural Education Program Promotion Project)

Last Updated March 29, 2019

What is Yokohama City Arts and Culture Education Platform?

In order to foster the creativity of children in Yokohama and expand opportunities to nurture rich emotions, schools, artists (artists), schools, artists (artists) and art organizations that continue to work in Yokohama and other places, as well as local cultural facilities. The Arts and Culture Education Platform is a place where companies, local residents, and governments can gently cooperate and collaborate. Through the School Program, which connects school education and art, we are exploring new possibilities of art.

What is a school program?

The artist goes directly to school.

The school program is an arts, culture and education project for children, which started in 2004. Artists who are active in a wide range of fields such as music, theater, dance, art, and traditional performing arts, go directly to school. There are two types of "experience-based program" and "appreciation type program".

Utilize the power of art in building the foundations of learning.

We value the process in which children recognize and develop each other's power through the creativity of arts and culture. In addition to linking with subjects, art is an art that demonstrates its abilities in building the basics of learning, such as fostering communication skills. We hope that children's learning activities will be richer by guiding free ideas and nurturing sensibilities.

The coordinator and teacher will adjust the content of the program.

In the school program, staff who usually work in cultural facilities and arts organizations support the creation of classes as coordinators who coordinate the contents of the school. An effective program can be implemented by combining the information possessed by the teacher, such as the target grade, subject, and the state of the school, with the coordinator's expertise in the field of culture and arts.
