On Sunday, May 14, the 19th Kamisasashita District Shakyo Sweet Potato Seedling Planting Party was held in a field in the Hitorizawa district. Approximately 1,400 sweet potato seedlings were planted for the “Harvest Festival (co-sponsored by the Japan National Council of Social Welfare and the Isogo Kamisasashita District Promotion Council)” to be held in autumn.
The weather was light with light rain on the day, but the participants were planting seedlings carefully one by one. It would be nice to have a lot of sweet potatoes during the autumn harvest festival.
