Yokohama City Tourism & MICE Strategy

In order for Yokohama City to continue to develop in the future as the population declines and the birthrate and aging population progress, it is important to attract people, create liveliness, and revitalize the Yokohama economy by promoting tourism and MICE. In addition to improving tourist satisfaction, it is necessary for citizens to work on realizing that the promotion of tourism and MICE contributes to the development of Yokohama City.
Aiming to be a city where citizens want to be proud of Yokohama and want to continue living, and to be a city where visitors want to live, sustainable tourism and MICE in All Yokohama with businesses and citizens We have formulated the "Yokohama City Tourism and MICE Strategy" that shows the direction of initiatives with a view to 2030 to promote.

The average number of tourists coming in Yokohama from 2015 to 2019 (five years) was 36.12 million, and the average amount of tourism consumption was 346.7 billion yen.
・The average number of tourists entering the hotel is 4.99 million, and the average consumption is 27,688 yen.
・The average number of day-trip tourists is 31.13 million, and the average consumption is 6,752 yen.

From 2015 to 2019 (5 years), the average number of guests stays is about 1.3 nights, and the average stay time of day guests is about 5.2 hours.
The average number of travellers tends to be one more hotel guests than day guests.

In December 2023, we formulated the "Yokohama City Tourism & MICE Strategy".

As we summarized way of thinking as city for conduct result and opinion, we announce. Your opinion will be used as a reference when formulating the original draft, and will be used as a reference for future projects and initiatives.
