Governors of Cote d'Ivoire Abijan Autonomous Region visited Yokohama!
As a joint statement city, we will implement initiatives to share urban issues and knowledge and exchange with companies in Yokohama.

From August 26 to August 31, 2019, Governor Robert Bugure Mambe of Abijan Autonomous Region of the Republic of Cote d'Ivoire, a joint statement city, visited Yokohama to speak at the 2nd plenary session of the "Clean Town Platform in Africa (ACCP)" held in conjunction with the 7th African Development Conference.
In the high-level session of the plenary session, "ACCP's contribution to the Realization of a Clean City and Healthy Living in Africa," Governor Mambe spoke about the issues of waste management in the Abijan Autonomous Region.
Governor Mambe, together with Amadou Gon Kri Bali, Prime Minister of the Republic of Cote d'Ivoire and Ambassador of Japan to JETRO, participated in a welcome event by Yokohama City Council and an exhibition tour of 10 local companies that exhibited at the Yokohama booth at the Japan-Africa Business EXPO sponsored by JETRO.
From the Abijan Autonomous Region, along with Governor Mambe, special advisor Bakayoko Abdul Doraman, Deputy Governor Thiev Leu Tiger, and President Kajo Amoiwa Noel, came to the beach.
Bakayoko visited Sky Garden on the Observation Floor, Landmark Plaza Shopping Center Observation Floor, and visited the Minato Mirai district while receiving explanations from Urban Development Bureau on the city planning of Yokohama. At the "Japan-African Business EXPO", they received explanations about exhibitions by companies in Yokohama, and exchanged opinions with the person in charge of the company on potential and issues related to local business development.
Deputy Governor Thiev participated in a symposium entitled "The Future of Africa Changed by Women and Girls" - the Possibility of Social Change through Business-" organized by Yokohama City with JICA and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and listened to lectures and discussions aimed at promoting the advancement of women in both Japan and Africa.
On the last day of his stay, Governor Mambe shook hands with Mayor Hayashi, confirming his bond as a joint statement city.
