Japanese Industrial Standards (JIS) for web accessibility revised in March 2016. The official name is JIS X 8341-3: 2016 "Design Guidelines for the Elderly and Disabled-Equipment, Software and Services in Information and Communication-Part 3: Web Content".

JIS has three conformance levels: A, AA, and AAA. When all the achievement criteria of Level A and Level AA are met, it is called "conformance level AA".
