About loss of bid participation qualification of the best proposer of Seya-ku, Yokohama-shi synthesis Government building and Futatsu Bridge Park maintenance business

Yokohama City decided to implement the integrated development of the Futatsu Bridge Park adjacent to the Seya Ward General Government Building (Ward Office, public hall, Fire Department) as a PFI project, and announced the tender on May 8, 2007 to select PFI operators through comprehensive evaluation competitive bidding.
After that, the examination proceeded, and on November 27, 2007, the Yokohama City PFI Business Examination Committee reported that the Mitsubishi Corporation Group was determined as the best proposer, but on December 11, 2007, our partner company lost the bid participation qualification, so Motoichi decided not to make the group the successful bidder.

On November 29, 2007, an official from Takenaka Corporation, a partner company of the Mitsubishi Corporation Group, who became the best proposer, made a false report of a work-related accident that occurred during construction in Osaka Prefecture, was indicted on November 29, 2007, and a brief order was issued on the same day.
In response to this situation, Motoichi implemented a nomination suspension measure against Takenaka Corporation on December 11, 2007, and the Mitsubishi Corporation Group, with Takenaka Corporation as a cooperating company, lost its bid participation qualification.

In order to resolve issues such as earthquake resistance and narrowing of the Seya Ward Government Building, it is necessary to carry out the project as soon as possible, and we will proceed with the examination for public notice of re-bidding.
