The 8th Asian Smart City Conference

The 8th Asian Smart City Conference was held from October 8 to 11, 2019.

The Asia Smart City Conference (ASCC) is an international conference where representatives from leading Asian cities, representatives from international organizations, academic institutions, and private companies come together to build a hub for information on smart urban development in Asia. The conference will share a vision for urban challenges and growth presented by city leaders, proposals for innovative solutions by companies and academic institutions, international organizations' measures to fund public-private partnerships, and various global best practices.

At the 8th ASCC, the week of ASCC is called Asia Smart City Week (ASCW). In collaboration with the ASEAN-Japan Smart City Network High-Level Meeting (ASCN) hosted by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT) and the Global Smart City Alliance Establishment Meeting (GSCA), which was adopted in the Ministerial Statement of Economy, Trade and Digital Economy Ministers' Meeting held in Tsukuba City.
During the ASCW period, a total of about 850 participants participated in the three conferences (ASCC, ASCN, GSCA).

●Overview of ASCC
Schedule

From Tuesday, October 8, 2019 to Friday, 11th
"Business Matching Stage *" was held for three days from the 8th to the 10th.
(※…Exhibitions by companies and organizations, presentations related to the six urban issues. )
On the 10th, ASCC held six field-specific sessions and panel discussions on closing.
On the 11th, a tour was held jointly by ASCC and ASCN.

・In addition, participants from domestic government agencies, international organizations, academic institutions, private companies, and embassies.
