Overview of the System

Environmental design image

The Yokohama City Urban Environmental Design System is a good urban area by reducing the height and floor area ratio of buildings on the condition that a comprehensive community contribution is planned, such as setting up sidewalks and plazas (open spaces) on the premises. It is a system that guides the formation of an environment.
Since the introduction of the system in 1973, approximately 500 architectural plans utilizing the system have contributed to the development of local communities according to the characteristics of each location.
