Environmental Consideration Standards for Public Buildings

Last Updated February 3, 2023

We have established standards for environmental considerations required for public buildings maintained by the city, and are promoting the reduction of environmental impact and the development of public buildings in consideration of the conservation surrounding environment. This standard stipulates the energy-saving performance, environmental performance, and wood consumption of public buildings.

■Notice■

・We revised "environmental consideration standard in public buildings of Yokohama-shi". (R5.2.3)

Overview of Standards

Purpose

Based on the Law Concerning the Improvement of Energy Consumption Performance of Buildings and the Ordinance on the conservation, etc. of Yokohama City Living Environment, we will establish the level of environmental considerations required for public buildings maintained by Yokohama City and promote the development of public buildings in consideration of the conservation environment. In addition, based on the "Law Concerning the Promotion of the Use of Wood in Buildings for Contributing to the Realization of a Decarbonized Society", the "Policy on Promoting the Use of Wood in Yokohama City Buildings" We will determine the amount of wood used and promote the use of wood.

Standards for Environmental Considerations in Public Buildings

1 Energy consumption performance of buildings

The standards for energy consumption performance of buildings are as follows.

 (1) New construction (including the case of building a separate building from an existing building by extension)

Design primary energy consumption based on "Ministerial ordinances that stipulate building energy consumption performance standards, etc." (excluding other primary energy consumption) In addition, the value of primary energy consumption due to renewable energy is not included. ) Is less than the value obtained by multiplying the value of the standard primary energy consumption (excluding other primary energy consumption) by the following numerical value. However, this excludes facilities with a total area of less than 300 m2.

BEI = Design Primary Energy Consumption / Standard Primary Energy Consumption

 (2) Other than new construction

Take measures to improve energy-saving performance.

2 Yokohama City Building Environmental Consideration System (CASBEE Yokohama)

According to the following facility categories, the rank of CASBEE Yokohama must be higher than the listed.

※2 Other facilities: Excluding special uses and extensions such as warehouses

3 Wood consumption

When building a new building or expanding a building, use the amount of wood specified below.

Next, the applicable parts and buildings shall not be included in the target floor area when calculating the amount of wood used (m3 / m2).
・Facilities that are difficult to make wooden or wood due to laws and regulations such as the Building Standards Law and facility installation standards.
・Facilities that are difficult to make wooden or wood due to the special features of the facility, security, maintenance, etc.
・In addition, there are reasons why it is difficult to make wooden or wood.
However, even if it is difficult to make wood or wood, we will consider the use of wood for parts that are visited by citizens and used for general use, such as building entrances, reception counters, and tour facilities. We will strive to make wood.
