Cancer Screening

Lung cancer group examination that we carried out in ward office was finished at the end of 2023. From 2024, please consult a medical institution as well as other cancer screenings.
We perform lung, stomach, uterus, breast, colorectal cancer health check-up, prostate cancer health check-up (PSA test) at a nearby cancer screening (designated) medical institution.

- Reservation is required. Please contact your medical institution directly.
- We do not carry out sputum test.
- Lung cancer health check-up, prostate cancer health check-up and colorectal cancer health check-up are available once a year, and stomach cancer health check-up, uterine cancer health check-up and breast cancer health check-up once every two years.

2 Those who need prior procedures at the ward office
For households exempt from municipal tax and prefectural tax in the previous fiscal year of the consultation day belongs, or households with municipal tax and prefectural tax only per capita rate for the year to which the consultation day belongs.
If you bring the "health check-up examinee Exemption Person Confirmation Form" issued by the ward office to a medical institution, you can receive a free consultation.
How to apply for a confirmation letter for health check-up examinee
（１） Please bring your driver's license or my number card in advance to the 30th window (Health Promotion Section) on the 3rd floor of the Asahi Ward Office. Please note that you will not be exempted from expenses after receiving health check-up.
（２） Please fill out the application form and present your identity verification documents.
（３） The staff confirms that it corresponds to the cost exemption and gives you a "health check-up examinee Exemption Person Confirmation Form".
※ When we receive cancer screening in 2024, municipal tax, prefectural tax of 2023 is targeted.
※ Those who are subject to municipal tax and prefectural tax for the relevant year in local governments other than Yokohama City due to transfer from outside the city cannot confirm the taxation status at the Asahi Ward Office. Please bring a tax certificate or tax exemption certificate issued by the taxable local government.

※ Since the 2024 colorectal cancer health check-up is free of charge, there is no need to apply for a “health check-up Patient Exemption Confirmation Form”.
