Q I was enrolled in employee health insurance (social insurance) where I work, but I received a notice regarding the National Health Insurance premium.

A

Have you completed the procedure to stop National Health Insurance (disqualification)?
If you have not completed the procedure, please stop National Health Insurance at the counter or by mail (disqualification).

Please come to the 28th floor of the Aoba Ward Office with the following documents.
・National Health Insurance Insured Card
・New Health Insurance Card

[In the case of mailing]
Please send the following required documents to Aoba Ward National Health Insurance Section.

Q The expiration date of the insurance card is until the end of July 2023. When will the new insurance card arrive?

A

By the end of July, when the expiration date expires, mail will be sent by registered mail addressed to the head of household.
If you do not receive it even after the expiration date approaches, your insurance card may have been returned to the ward office due to the expiration date of the post office. In that case, please contact Aoba Ward National Health Insurance Section directly.

A

You can apply for a reissue of your National Health Insurance card at the counter or by mail.

Q The head of household does not take out National Health Insurance, but why did you receive a premium decision letter (or insurance premium confirmation letter)?

A

If there is a National Health Insurance member in your household, a notice will be sent to the head of household.
In National Health Insurance, insurance premiums are calculated on a household basis, and it is stipulated by law that the head of household is responsible for paying it.

For more information on who is in the household, please refer to the insured person's name column of “Basic insurance premium calculation base” in the insurance premium decision notice (or insurance premium amount confirmation letter).

Q Please explain how to calculate insurance premiums.

A

The National Health Insurance premium is calculated based on the income of the previous year (in the case of 2023, the year from January to December 2022) and the “per capita rate” paid by each insured person. The sum of the amount.

Q Insurance premiums are higher than last year, even though the income does not change. Why?

A

Since both the income rate premium rate and the per capita rate have risen from last year, insurance premiums have risen accordingly.
In addition, the following reasons may be the main reasons for the increase in insurance premiums.
・The number of households in the household has increased.
・Due to a change in the number of people in the household, the amount of insurance premium reduced has been changed.
・In the case of operating income, etc., the income does not change, but the amount of income increased due to a decrease in expenses.
・By reaching the age of 40, a new amount of nursing care for National Health Insurance was newly generated.
・Premiums have not been calculated correctly because income has not been declared. (If there is a declaration, the income is subject to reduction of insurance premiums, but in cases where insurance premiums are not subject to reduction of insurance premiums due to undeclared declaration and insurance premiums have increased since last year.)

Q Insurance premiums are not calculated correctly because there is no income in the previous year and undeclared. How is it calculated correctly?

A

In this case, the National Health Insurance premium will be calculated correctly by submitting a “National Health Insurance Income Statement” to National Health Insurance Section Aoba Ward.
You can fill out the “National Health Insurance Income Statement” at the counter or contact us by e-mail, fax or telephone to your home.

Q Is there a discount on insurance premiums by paying the entire term?

A

There is no discount.

I would like to calculate the National Health Insurance premium when I join the National Health Insurance.

A

The National Health Insurance premium can be calculated by entering the necessary information in the “Simplified Trial of Insurance Premium” on the following website.
Regarding premium rates for FY2023
The required information is the age of the member and the income information of the previous year, so please prepare a final tax return document and a withholding slip before making a trial calculation.
