Measures for parking and stopping around East Exit Totsuka Station
Based on the results of the traffic society experiment conducted in November 2022, we implemented measures to prevent parking and stopping at intersections and near pedestrian crossings, which are prohibited under the Road Traffic Law.
Thank you very much for your cooperation.
Protective fence installed (installed in October 2023)
Background and Purpose of Implementation
In order to overtake vehicles that stop at intersections in front of Totsuka Station East Exit or near pedestrian crossings, the following vehicles are running out of the opposite lane. In order to improve this situation, protective fences will be installed on the shoulders where parking and stopping are originally prohibited, and the parking prohibition zone will be clarified to improve traffic flow and improve the safety of vehicles and pedestrians. Improve safety.

About traffic society experiment that we carried out in 2022 around East Exit Totsuka Station
The roads around East Exit Totsuka Station are very crowded during morning and evening rush hours and rainy days due to the stop of pick-up cars. In particular, very dangerous situations have occurred, such as the following vehicles protrude into the opposite lane in order to overtake vehicles stopped at the intersection in front of the station.
Therefore, in order to use the area around the station safely, we conducted a social experiment to facilitate the flow of traffic.
