Sakae Ward Power Saving Challenge Seven

Last update date November 22, 2023

Saving power is one of the measures we can do.
When cooling and heating with electricity, the energy saving effect by adjusting the room temperature setting is higher in winter than in summer.
Lowering the room temperature setting when using heating equipment in winter will not only reduce CO2, but also effectively save electricity bills. Why don't you work together to save power that you can do at home?

Introducing a little bit "Warm Style Tips"

Warm Style Tips "Housing"

Be aware of humidity and increase the perceived temperature.

  • If you stay in the same room for a long time, you will feel colder or warmer than it is actually. Also, in general, low humidity feels cold and high when it is high, it feels warm. Put a thermometer and a hygrometer to "visualize" the indoor environment to avoid unnecessary heating use, and on the contrary, be careful of poor physical condition due to coldness.

Let's try to keep heat out of the window.

  • Insulation sheets are used for windows.
  • In winter, about 50% of the warm air of the whole house flows out of the window. Use a heat insulation sheet or a thick curtain to keep heat from escaping from the window.

Let's do not rely too much on heating with "tools" and "small items".

  • Effective use of hot water bottles, slippers and cushions with long hair feet.

Warm Style Tips "Food"

Let's warm up your body and room with a pot.

  • The humidification effect of steam from the pot raises the perceived temperature
In general, when the humidity rises, the perceived temperature rises, so put not only a pot, but also a pot with hot water or put a kettle on the stove to boil the hot water to suppress heating Even so, it is difficult to feel the cold.
  • We also focus on ingredients that warm up the body, such as winter seasonal items, root vegetables, ginger, etc.
Seasonal ingredients, root vegetables, especially ginger, etc., have the effect of warming the body from the inside.
By choosing ingredients, you can also reduce CO2 emissions related to distribution by keeping in mind "local production for local consumption".
It is also important not to waste food, such as making extra ingredients in the refrigerator as a pot.
