Nishi Ward Bridge
Last Updated March 28, 2023
The central part of Nishi Ward was sea until the middle of the Edo period, and the estuary of Katabira River was around Tennocho today.
Subsequent land reclamation created the current terrain surrounded by many rivers.
The names of places that are no longer used are left in the name of bridges, bridges related to the birth of modern water supply, bridges built in the reconstruction of the Great Kanto Earthquake, etc.
You can see various faces of Nishi Ward from the bridge, such as the bridge that became the subject of famous paintings.
By all means, please go around the bridge in the city.
