At present, the increasing burden on the environment due to global warming and climate change is becoming a problem.
As a first step toward solving problems, the “Nishiku Eco Challenge” started with the hope that it will be an opportunity to engage in practical environmentally conscious actions.
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, our way of life has changed significantly.
For future generations, there is a need for initiatives that lead to a sustainable "new daily life" from the perspective of the SDGs "leave no one left behind."
Why don't you take on the challenge of new initiatives?

1. Reduce the amount of garbage generated by reducing and reusing
   Use up ingredients, exhibit at bazaars, etc.

   Reduction of electricity and gas usage, setting energy-saving modes for personal computers and televisions

4. Let's reduce food loss
   Check the refrigerator before going out, use of food drives, eating at cooperating stores, etc.

5. Let's work on "ethical consumption"
   “Ethical consumption” refers to the selection and purchase of products that take into consideration the environment, society, people, and local communities. (Example) Carry a My Bag / My Bottle to buy environmentally friendly products and fair trade products.

   Meals at the "Yokohama Local Production for Local Consumption Support Shop", which incorporates Yokohama's agricultural and livestock products into the menu.

7. Let's go to the SDGs Panel Exhibition and deepen our understanding
   We hold panel exhibition to introduce approach for SDGs achievement spreading in company, group in ward.

   We are planning to hold an "SDGs Symposium (tentative)" in collaboration with Kanagawa University. Details will be announced on the Nishi Ward website at a later date.
