What is evacuation shelter (evacuation shelter)?

  • 25 elementary and junior high schools in Minami Ward have been designated. This is a place where people can evacuate for a certain period of time when it becomes difficult to live at home, such as when a large-scale earthquake occurs.
  • There is a disaster prevention stockpiling, and stockpiling disaster prevention equipment such as generators and floodlights, as well as food and daily necessities such as bread and canned water.
  • Each evacuation shelter (evacuation shelter) is managed by the evacuation shelter Steering Committee, which is comprised of local residents, government and schools.
  • The evacuation shelter Steering Committee is responsible for smooth operation of evacuation shelter in the event of a disaster. During normal times, evacuation shelter conducts training to open evacuation shelters and handling equipment and materials.
  • When the evacuation sites is established, information necessary for evacuation will be gathered as a regional information base.

・If you can secure your safety at home in the event of a disaster, please try to evacuate at home to prevent the infection of the new coronavirus. Prepare stockpiles such as food and toilet packs in preparation for evacuation at home.
・Consider evacuation to your best friends and friends' homes as well as the evacuation sites evacuation centers established by the government.
・Please include masks, thermometer, etc. in the emergency list you bring when evacuating to evacuation sites / evacuation center.
