A round-table conference was held at Yokohama City Hall with Governor Kuroiwa Kanagawa Prefecture, Mayor Fukuda Kawasaki, and Mayor Motomura Sagamihara Mayor.
At the round-table conference, in order to make effective use of limited resources and ensure that the truly necessary services are delivered to those who need them in a declining population and a declining birthrate and aging society, prefectures and three designated cities It is necessary to clarify the division of roles, develop sustainable administrative operations, and improve administrative efficiency. Therefore, we exchanged frank opinions in four prefectures and cities on large city systems such as the special self-government city concept and shared their ideas.
In addition, we agreed to hold top-level discussions between the governor and the three mayors in order to share the issues of the prefecture and designated cities and to resolve them from the perspective of residents.
We will continue discussions with the four parties to resolve administrative issues.
