When you get married

If a foreigner is married in a Japanese manner, the required documents vary from country to country, such as the certificate to contract marriage (a document certifying that they have the necessary requirements for marriage under the law of the home country) and the birth certificate, issued by the ambassador, minister, consul, etc.
In addition, it may not be possible to make a decision on the spot, so if you are married to a foreigner in Japan, please consult with the ward office (municipalities) of the submission destination in advance.

When divorced

If a foreigner divorces in a Japanese manner, divorce by consent/agreement may be able to do so or notify the embassy or consulate of their home country, depending on the divorce law applicable to the couple. In addition, for example, if a spouse who is the defendant has Address in Japan among foreign couples, Japan is also subject to international court jurisdiction and may conduct divorce by judgment of district court in a family court.
