Last Updated September 4, 2024

Registration of living in Japan with the ward office is called resident registration. Foreign nationals residing in Japan for a medium to long term (those who have a residence card) must submit a resident registration to the ward office Family Registry Division in which they live.
When you submit your resident registration, resident certificate is created with Address, name, date of birth, residence information, etc. If you take a copy of resident certificate, you can prove that you and your family live.
