1 “Direction of Promoting Consumer Education in Yokohama”
Today, our lives are becoming more diversified and complicated due to the progress of globalization and advanced information technology. Consumer life has also caused complex and serious consumer problems with changes in social life.
Until now, we have focused on consumer policies that focus on preventing consumer damage and promptly recovering from damage in the event of damage.
However, in the future, "consumers who do not suffer damage and independent consumers who can make reasonable decisions, as a member of society, are actively involved in the development of a better market and a better society." It is necessary to foster consumers and make efforts to realize a "consumer civil society" where these people participate.
In September 2015, Yokohama City compiled the pillars of the basic direction of promoting consumer education as "Direction of Yokohama City Consumer Education Promotion".
