Area management

In recent years, as cities have shifted from the age of growth to an era of maturity, it is necessary to further spread area management initiatives in order to build a sustainable city. From April 1, 2016, the organization and the city that implements area management will formulate an "area management plan" after consultation, and conclude an agreement with each other to promote area management by concluding mutual agreements. Those who fall under any of the following.

• Area management to be implemented based on district planning or city planning proposals
• Area management that utilizes district facilities (Note 1)
• Area management implemented by local community development activity groups (Note 2)
• Other area management that the mayor deems necessary

(Note 1) It applies to open vacant lots in the Yokohama City Urban Area Environmental Design System, effective vacant lots in specific blocks, district facilities and No. 1 facility in city planning.
