About citizen committee (Yokohama-shi area town development promotion committee)

The “Yokohama City Community Development Promotion Committee” and the “Yokohama City Town General Contracting Business Subcommittee” are based on the Yokohama City Community Development Promotion Ordinance. It is a committee established to realize a town. In order to reflect the opinions of those who are practicing community development activities such as local activities and citizen activities, and those who want to make use of their experiences, we are recruiting for city committee members. (We do not recruit at all times.)

• Deliberation on the certification of local community development organizations, plans, and rules
• Deliberation on the status of promotion of local community development
• Deliberation of other matters related to community development

※The committee is scheduled to be held three to four times a year.

• Selection of proposals for maintenance of familiar living environment (facility) by citizens
• Deliberation on matters related to Yokohama citizen town general contract business

※The subcommittee is held about six times a year (including screenings at public contests (Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays)).

Those who meet all of the following requirements
1. Those who live, work, or attend school in Yokohama, who are 20 years old or older as of April 1, 2023 (excluding Yokohama City staff)
2. Those who have an understanding and interest in activities of local community development (for example, self-government association neighborhood association activities, town planning rules, disaster prevention and anti-crime program, nearby roads and parks, local greenery, community welfare and health activities, community events, volunteers ... etc.)
3. Those who can attend the committee or subcommittee during the term of office (mainly held on weekdays, but the Yokohama Municipal Town General Contracting Business Subcommittee and the public contest may be held on Saturdays, Sundays, etc. .)
4. Those who can respond by e-mail such as office communication

Yokohama City Community Development Promotion Committee 2 (Term: two years from April 1, 2023 to March 31, 2025)
2 members of Yokohama Municipal Town Contracting Business Subcommittee (Term: 2 years from April 1, 2023 to March 31, 2025)

Documents must arrive from Monday, October 3, Reiwa 4 to Friday, November 18

About the issues and future prospects of community development as seen from your experience, and solutions

• Distribution is finished at window entrance of Urban Development Bureau area town development section, window of Ward Administration Promotion Division Public Relations Section of each ward office.

Members of the City Committee Selection Committee, which is composed of Motoichi staff, make selections.
　　Primary selection: Selection of documents based on application form and writing.
　　Second screening: individual contacts for those who passed the selection (scheduled for around January 2023)　

• Basic knowledge, problem awareness, objectivity and public nature, and expressiveness
• Understanding the purpose of the Ordinance for Promoting Community Development and Qualification as a committee member (empathy, broad insight)
• Understanding of the purpose of the Yokohama Municipal Public Contract Business and Qualification as a committee member (understanding ability, coordination)

If you are selected as a committee member and attends a committee or subcommittee, you will be paid according to the regulations.
