About citizen committee (Yokohama-shi area town development promotion committee)

The “Yokohama City Regional Town Development Promotion Committee” and the “Yokohama Citizen Town Public Contracting Business Subcommittee” are based on the Yokohama City Regional Town Development Promotion Ordinance, where the city and the city collaborate to create a safe, comfortable and attractive town. It is a committee established to realize We are recruiting citizen committee members to reflect the opinions of those who are practicing community development activities such as local activities and citizen activities and those who want to make use of that experience.

• Deliberation on the certification of local community development organizations, plans, and rules
• Deliberation on the status of promotion of local town development
• Deliberation of other matters related to community development

※The committee is scheduled to hold about three times a year.

• Selection of town development proposals with facility maintenance for problem solving and attractiveness enhancement that citizens take the initiative in the selection of town development proposals that citizens take the initiative.
• Deliberation on matters related to the Yokohama Citizens' Town General Contracting Project

※The subcommittee will hold about six times a year (including screenings at public contests (Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays) twice a year).

Those who meet all of the following requirements
1. Those who live, work or attend school in Yokohama City who are 18 years of age or older as of April 1, 2025 (excluding Yokohama City staff)
2. Those who have an understanding and interest in local community development activities (for example, Jijikai Neighborhood Association activities, town plan rules, disaster prevention / anti-crime program, nearby roads / parks, local greenery, community welfare and health activities, community events, volunteers, etc.)
3. Those who can attend the committee or subcommittee during the term of office

Meetings are held mainly during the daytime on weekdays, and administrative communication is made by e-mail.
In addition, Yokohama citizen town general contract sectional meeting may hold on Saturdays and Sundays.

A member of the Citizen Committee Selection Committee, composed of Motoichi staff, will make a selection.
　　Primary selection: Document selection by application form and written text
　　2nd selection: individual contact with those who passed the first selection (scheduled for around January 2025)　

• Basic knowledge, problem awareness, objectivity / public nature, expressive power related to community development
• Understanding the purpose of the Local Community Development Promotion Ordinance and eligibility as a committee member (empathy, broad insight)
• Understanding the purpose of the Yokohama Municipal Public Contracting Business and Qualification as a committee member (understanding ability, coordination)

If you are selected by a committee member and attend a committee or subcommittee, you will be paid according to the rules.
