Information sign and public wireless maintenance business with Yokohama City Advertising

Yokohama City and Mushduko Co., Ltd. concluded a contract in December 2018 to create an environment where visitors can move smoothly to their destinations, and as a business utilizing advertising revenue, surrounding facilities etc. We have been promoting the development of information signs and public wireless LAN (Wi-Fi) showing information.
The operation will begin on September 20, 2019 in line with the Rugby World Cup 2019 TM.
Regarding Wi-Fi, we will provide services based on “YOKOHAMA Free Wi-Fi (SSID: YOKOHAMA_Free_Wi-Fi),”, which is already being developed in free passages at Yokohama Station and parks in the Minato Mirai 21 district. On the sign, a QR code of "YOKOHAMA TRAVEL GUIDE", which provides information such as tourist information in multiple languages, will be posted.
In addition, in anticipation of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games, we will work to improve the staying environment for visitors, such as adding locations while grasping the usage status of "YOKOHAMA Free Wi-Fi".

In preparation for the Rugby World Cup 2019 TM and the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games, a guide sign that shows the location information of the current location and surrounding facilities on a map is required in order for visitors to smoothly move to their destination. In addition, a public wireless LAN is required for foreign visitors to Japan to collect tourist information through the Internet.
Therefore, in order to solve the above issues, Yokohama City and Mushduko Co., Ltd. will utilize the advertising fee revenue to carry out the maintenance and management of information signs and public wireless LAN in a public-private partnership project.

Regarding public wireless LAN, maintenance is progressing at restaurants, commercial facilities, airports and stations, etc., but maintenance in public spaces such as roads and station squares has become insufficient.
In this project, the Rugby World Cup 2019 TM and the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games will be used as an opportunity to provide a comfortable stay environment for visitors from Japan and abroad, in order to provide a comfortable stay environment for visitors from Japan and abroad. In public spaces in the central public space of the city, we will recruit businesses that maintain and manage and operate information signs through public-private partnerships.

It covers roads and station squares in the area around Yokohama Station, Minato Mirai 21 district, Kannai / Kangai-District and Shin-Yokohama Station area.
In addition, for the area around Shin-Yokohama Station, the route to "Yokohama International Stadium" is also included.

In the area subject to maintenance, guidance signs and public wireless LANs shall be maintained and operated for at least 10 years based on the redevelopment of existing signage.
In addition, for expenses necessary for project implementation, advertisements can be posted as long as they do not interfere with the guidance signs, and the income will be financed as financial resources.
