Main History of Maioka Station Area (Maioka Research Park Concept)
In the vicinity of Maioka Station on Municipal Subway Line 1, which was opened in March 1985, the Maioka Research Park Initiative was formulated with the aim of forming a leading industrial base centered on biotechnology.
On approximately 9 hectares on the north side of Maioka Station, the Yokohama Land Development Corporation and 19 others conducted a joint land readjustment project to accumulate advanced technology and industrial facilities such as biotechnology centered on the Kihara Biology Research Institute at Yokohama City University. I planned.
(2) Former Maioka Research Park Phase 2 District
Adjacent to the Maioka Research Park Phase 1 area and owned by Kanagawa Prefecture (approximately 15.7 hectares) in March 1995 for the purpose of accumulating advanced industrial facilities in the same way as the Phase 1 project The land development public corporation acquired the land and proceeded with the study of the land readjustment project. However, due to the prolonged economic downturn, it was difficult to attract private companies, etc., and planned for 200.

Perspective of review of plan and basic direction of new land use plan
In reviewing the plan, the planned site (formerly Maioka Research Park Phase 2) was positioned as one of the 10 major green bases in Maioka and Noba, making it a valuable forest area, designated as the Hachimanyama area in evacuation area, as well as a large and valuable public land.
(1)Perspective of issues and needs in the Totsuka Ward and surrounding areas
While preserving precious forests and satoyama landscape, we will secure a multi-purpose space where temporary evacuation site functions and local events can be held in the event of a disaster.
In addition, since there are many baseball and soccer teams in Totsuka Ward, we plan to develop sports facilities for various sports.
(2)Perspectives of City-wide Issues and Needs
In order to make effective use of large-scale and precious public land, we will maintain a green graveyard with a very high level of citizen needs throughout the city and integrated with the park.
In addition, we will make use of the precious green environment and topography to enhance facilities that many people, from children to the elderly, can gather and enjoy.
