Main background of Maioka Station area (Maioka Research Park Concept)
The Maioka Research Park Concept was formulated with the aim of forming an advanced industrial base centered on biotechnology around Maioka Station on Municipal Subway Line 1, which was opened in March 1985.
About 9 hectares on the north side of Maioka Station, Yokohama City Land Development Corporation and 19 others implemented a joint land readjustment project, and advanced technology industrial facilities such as biotechnology centered on the Kihara Institute of Biological Sciences, Yokohama City University Kihara Institute of Biological Science. Was planned.
(2) Former Maioka Research Park Phase II Area
Adjacent to the first district of Maioka Research Park, land owned by Kanagawa Prefecture (approximately 15.7 hectares) owned by Kanagawa Prefecture, adjacent to the first phase of Maioka Research Park. The public corporation acquired it and proceeded with the study of land readjustment projects. However, due to the prolonged economic downturn, it was difficult to attract private companies, etc., so in June 2013, the original plan was greatly reviewed, land use was assumed.

Perspective of plan review and basic direction of new land use plan
In reviewing the plan, the planned site (formerly Maioka Research Park Phase 2 District) is positioned as the 10 major green bases, "Maioka / Noba", and is a valuable forest area, and evacuation area Because it is designated as a whole area, and since it is a large-scale and valuable public land, we conducted a comprehensive study and comprehensive land use based on issues and needs from a regional perspective.
(1)Perspective of issues and needs in Totsuka Ward and surrounding areas
While preserving precious forests and satoyama landscapes, we will secure a multipurpose space where temporary evacuation site functions and local events can be held in the event of a disaster.
In addition, since there are many baseball and soccer teams in Totsuka Ward, we plan to develop sports facilities for sports.
(2)Perspective of city-wide issues and needs
In order to make effective use of large-scale and valuable public land, we will maintain a green graveyard that is lacking in the whole city and very high citizen needs integrally with the park.
In addition, taking advantage of the precious green environment and topography, we plan to enhance facilities that many people, from children to the elderly, can gather and enjoy.
