Shinji Megumi no Sato
Last Updated April 3, 2024
"Shinji Megumi no Sato" is like this.
"Shinji Megumi no Sato" is around Shinji-cho, Midori-ku. Agricultural land is scattered along the Shinji Citizen's Forest, around Shinjiriyama Park, the Onda River, and its tributary Umeda River. Around the rice fields along the Onda River, in addition to paddy rice, vegetables and cut flowers for direct sales are cultivated. Vegetables (market shipments and direct sales), paddy rice, fruit trees, etc. are produced around the citizen's forest, and interaction between farmers and local residents is also active.
Local farmers take the initiative in conducting various activities so that local people can learn about the importance and fun of “agriculture”. Please come and visit "Shinji Megumi no Sato" filled with the charm of "Agriculture"!

In commemoration of the 5th anniversary of the start of the "Shinji Megumi no Sato" activity, a logo was created in September 2010 to become more familiar to the community. It was widely recruited on the website, etc., and selected by local farmers. The name is "Vege Haru-kun." It was named after Vegetable Vege and Shinji's "Haru". It is a character of a salad bowl filled with vegetables made in Shinji. He is active as the "face of Shinji Megumi no Sato"!
